We are descendents of the original Arco Roto Phase converter introduced in 1964 by our father the late Robert N. Cotanch. Our phase converters are similar to the successful basic concept of the Roto Phase converter but today we offer many end-user friendly features and upgrades making the Remco phase converter the most versatile converter on the market equal to or better than utility 3-phase without the expense. Remco is the sizing specialist backed by 30 years of experience for phase converter applications assuring you of getting the perfect phase converter size the first time. Over the years we have replaced nearly every brand of converters due to this common problem in the industry.

WHY A REMCO Electrical Mfg. ROTARY PHASE CONVERTER IS YOUR BEST CHOICE
THE BOTTOM LINE: YOU want to buy a rotary converter! |
Most small business owners (SBO) are served with a 120/240 volt single phase service from their local electric utility. As their business expands they begin purchasing 3-phase industrial machinery. Initially, this appears to present a problem because they do not have 3-phase electric, however in all truthfulness they need to understand that they can efficiently and economically convert their single phase to three phase with a quality rotary converter. The phase converter specialist believes this is the best business decision to be made but let’s examine this argument by looking at all other options.
Here are six other choices for the SBO yet they don’t compare to buying a rotary converter:
1. Get utility 3-phase: Power companies do not like extending 3 phase for small users or seasonal users of power. If you request a rate quote for construction it may takes months for an answer and the answer usually comes in the amount of $18,000.00-50,000.00 per mile of rewiring. That’s only the beginning. Your monthly utility bill will be a whopper. As a former converter associate of mine said, “Utility 3-phase is the gift that keeps on taking.”
Edge: converter
2. Move the business: I have consulted with companies who decided to move their business to a building with 3-phase power but most people have no interest in this.
Edge: converter
3. Do nothing: Sadly, I have heard of many people who do exactly this. Why pass up purchasing a particular 3-phase a machine or model that would greatly enhance your company’s production? The main reason: They couldn’t afford utility 3-phase.
Edge: converter
4. Switch machines to single phase: This is an option if it’s only one machine that is under 7.5HP. We have helped people do this by supplying them with a single phase motor and new starter. A very low percentage of people will do this but occasionally it works out this way.
Edge: converter
5. Purchase a generator: Some people get so mad at the utility company that they actually go out and buy a generator. Some don’t think they have another choice. The expense is out of sight! We just converted a large end-user business who was running a 120KW generator to the cost of $6,000.00 per month in fuel charges! He bought 2-75KW converters from us and installed a 1200 amp single phase service and will recoup his investment in 6 months! His electric bill is projected to average around $350.00 per month!
Edge: converter
6. Purchase a variable frequency drive (VFD). This has gained popularity in recent years but has limits. Runs only one motor and is expensive. Remco Electrical Mfg. can offer it though.
Edge: converter
Hopefully you realize that you don’t have a problem because you have single phase power. You just need to go get a converter! You might consider this idea:
